about the scholarship program
The WWLF Scholarship Program awards two recipients per year. The mission of the Scholarship Award is to empower and inspire women, who have more than 5 years experience in the telecommunications industry, or are unable to obtain membership independently, by:
- Providing WWLF membership advantages at no cost to the recipient
- Engaging the recipient in the industry happenings and the operations of WWLF
- Offering unique mentorship opportunities to support the growth of new industry leaders
- Facilitating opportunities for career strengthening through WWLF resources
WWLF award features and benefits (during the awarded one-year term):
- Free one-year membership includes full access to resources, membership directory, links to valuable sites, monthly newsletter, and all other membership benefits.
- Featured on the WWLF website as Award winner.
- Free admission to 2 annual local regional events.
- Free admission to WWLF events at CTIA and PCIA.
- Free admission to WWLF educational webinars.
- Option to participate in a Mentoring Program (via phone or in person, depending on location) with appointed Mentee, once per quarter.
- Involvement in a WWLF committee.
- Discounted membership for one full year following award term.
- Award Winners will provide a “testimonial” at the end of the Term, and will complete a survey about the WWLF scholarship experience.
nominee requirements:
- Nominee must be employed in the wireless industry for 5 years, or longer.
- Nominees cannot be a current WWLF member at time of award.
- Nominee must be a woman.
- Nominee cannot be chosen as a recipient for two consecutive years.
